We have got together with the lovely Terry of Hilltop Treks for a fundraising walk up Leinsters’ highest mountain – Lugnaquillia on Saturday May 24th.

This is the highest mountain in Wicklow and the 13th highest in Ireland
No Boots, No Walk
Meeting at 11:00 in Donard Co. Wicklow.
From Donard onto Camarahill towards the summit of Lugnaquillia (Munro) 925m highest point in Leinster. Excellent views in all directions from the summit and on a clear day you can see the mountains of Mourne, all the peaks in Wicklow and even as far as Wales. From the summit we will travel in a NW direction to Camenabologue and from there cut across back towards Fentons pub.
How to get there:
Take the N81 out past Tallaght, Blessington, continue past the turn for Hollywood and Glendalough and about 5Km along you will see a left hand turn for Donard.
What to Bring:
Suitable walking boots, Rain gear, warm clothes, flask of hot drink, WATER, small lunch,
good socks, hat and gloves and spare top in bag.

Raise Funds For Diabetes Ireland Sept 2014

Roz and leahDiabetes is close to my heart as many of my close relations have diabetes.
With this in mind I have decided that myself and my lovely niece Leah ( who is Diabetic herself) will aim to raise enough funds for the two of us to take part in this fundraiser.
This involves walking up to 6 hours per day six days in a row so come on and support us with a donation – every little helps 🙂

Camino de Santiago PortugalJoin us on the Famous & Historical Camino de Santiago (Portuguese Leg) and Help Raise Funds For Diabetes Ireland
When: 6th – 13th September 2014
Trip Includes:

  • Return Flights From Dublin to Santiago de Compostela
  • All internal transfers including luggage transport during the trek;
  • Insurance
  • Accommodation includes bed, breakfast and dinner;
  • Fully guided tour & historical notes for each section of the walk.

You will be required to submit regular instalments to meet the following targets:

  1. an initial deposit of €250 (non-refundable)
  2. a sub-total of €750 (inclusive of the deposit) by 31 March 2014;
  3. a sub-total of €1,500 (inclusive of the above monies) by 31 May 2014;
  4. a sub-total of €1,995 (inclusive of the above monies) by 31 July 2014
